APPLICATION DETAILS:
To be considered for funding, you will need to provide a few documents. Tribal Affiliation, Art Market Acceptance Notification, Sample Images of your Artwork, A Completed IRS Form, and Optional Letters of Recommendation. Additionally, have a prepared Artist Biography that is written in 250 words or less. An artist Statement that is 400 words or less, explaining your artistic practice, cultural significance, and career goals.

The Benjamin Harjo Jr. Artist Fund is committed to a fair and transparent grantmaking process. Applicants, reviewers, and committee members are expected to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence, or appear to influence, the selection of grant recipients.

A conflict of interest may include, but is not limited to:

  • Close personal, family, or business relationships between applicants and reviewers.
  • Financial or professional interests that could benefit from the awarding of a grant.
  • Any other circumstance that could compromise impartial judgment.

By submitting this application, the applicant affirms that they have disclosed any such conflicts to the Fund. Reviewers and committee members are likewise required to recuse themselves from decisions in which a conflict of interest exists.

This policy ensures the integrity of the Benjamin Harjo Jr. Artist Fund and protects the trust of the community we serve.
